Where are your products made ?

We use an award winning Scotland based photo lab. All our products are hand finished.

How long will our order take?

Most of our products take 10-14 days, from ordering.

When is payment due?

The full payment is required at the time of placing the order.

Where can I see examples of your products ?

We have examples of all our products on display in the studio.

What is the expected duration of a session?

A basic brand portrait could take around 30 minutes. An individual, couple, or family portrait session typically lasts between 60 to 90 minutes. Factors such as outfit changes, backdrop alterations, and larger family sizes will all affect the total length of the session.

Will my images be shared on social media?

Absolutely not, unless you give your consent, in which case we have model release forms available.

What is an archival product ?

Photographs are especially prone to degradation from light (particularly UV), humidity, and chemical instability, especially in dye-based or instant formats. This makes archival decisions in photography crucial to ensure the preservation of your treasured images for decades. We use only acid free and lignin free cotton paper that will not yellow or fade or diminish. Archival pigment based inks are used. Our products are premium and made to last

What To Wear

We keep things flexible to suit your pace and comfort throughout the shoot, ensuring that every moment is tailored for you. As an Edinburgh Photographer, our goal is to create an experience that is enjoyable and stress-free, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the process and capture the best outcomes possible.

Outfit Ideas

Casual Family Look: For a relaxed vibe, consider denim paired with soft jumpers or button-up shirts in coordinating colours. Keeping the colour palette to a minimum ensures the focus is on you and your family.
For a session with a Family Photographer Edinburgh, 2–3 coordinating colours work best. Stay away from too much pattern or logos unless it is the look you are trying to achieve.
Most importantly, wear what’s comfortable and what makes you happy and feel like the best version of you. Stay away from stuffy or overly uncomfortable clothing, as that will reflect in the images.

Polished Family Look: For a more elegant appearance, choose slightly more tailored outfits in neutral tones. For example, a flowing dress for mum paired with a similar dress for your daughter, and chinos with white shirts for dad, creates a sophisticated look.
Tonality can be very powerful, where outfits and backgrounds blend, allowing more focus on you. Different textures within the same colour add interest and depth.
Consider the colours you are going to wear, as ultimately you would hope to be displaying a piece in your home for many years to come. As a Portrait Photographer Edinburgh, we will help and guide you with this when we discuss and make a plan for the shoot.

What to expect from your session.

The session will last, as a guideline, 60–90 minutes depending on factors such as group size, outfit changes, and backdrop changes.
As a Family Photographer Edinburgh, we use stunning in-house plain backdrops for timeless portraiture, depending on the look we are aiming to achieve.
For fun mini shoots, birthdays, holidays and more, we have a limitless supply of creative backdrops, both in the studio and digitally.
There is a comfortable waiting area for family members waiting their turn, with drinks and snacks available to help everyone enjoy the day.
Music of your choice can also help create a relaxed atmosphere for family bonding images.
On arrival, we will have a quick chat to discuss what you are looking to achieve from the shoot, and then away we go.
The studio is set within a large garden, offering the option to shoot outdoors in natural light for a beautiful contrast.
This can be arranged and discussed prior to arrival. Approximately two weeks after the session, you will be invited back to view all of your images in high resolution.
If you are happy and wish to convert some of your images into a stunning wall product, collection, or album, we have samples in the studio and can discuss what best suits your style, needs, space, and budget.
