Hillhouse Studio in Blackhall, Edinburgh is a modern photography space where I love creating warm, natural, and meaningful portraits. For me, it’s about capturing the little moments, connections, and personalities that make your family unique — whether between partners, parents and children, or the pets who are such a special part of family life.

Life moves quickly, and these moments can easily be missed. My aim is to create beautiful, timeless photographs that bring those memories back to life and can be treasured for generations to come.

We pride ourselves on being approachable and relaxed while maintaining a high level of professionalism. We listen, guide, and pay close attention to every detail, ensuring each project is handled with care. Our aim is simple: to create beautiful images you’ll love and treasure for many years to come.

Our waiting area has plenty seating for family members waiting their turn. Hot and cold drinks, biscuits, even some wine.

The photography studio is set within lovely gardens, giving us the opportunity to take some photographs in natural light when the weather permits. Whether it’s furry friends bounding around or the family sitting together on the grass, having this option adds another dimension to your session.

Greetings and welcome to our lovely new photography studio on Hillhouse Road. I’ve been an enthusiastic amateur photographer for many years before making the decision to turn my passion into a profession.

The arrival of my daughter was a big part of that journey. Becoming a parent made me realise just how precious every moment truly is, and how quickly those moments pass. Being able to capture them through photography feels like a gift — one that I’m incredibly grateful for and now wish to share with others.
